I’m a bit late to the party here, but rather late than never right?
This is going to be a shorter “year in review” post than I usually write. The reason being that 2019 was not a good year in many ways for me. I’d rather not get in to all the details, but I’ll summarize and finish with some of my plans for 2020.
What didn’t go well in 2019
At the start of 2019, I had a lot of enthusiasm for the year ahead. I had great plans to start my YouTube channel again and spend more time working on some of my side projects and ideas that I had. None of that happened.
Early on in the year, my father passed away in the UK. 2 weeks later, my step father passed away. And then about a month later, my grandfather passed away. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the year.
Work wise, I felt stagnant. I also had little motivation for side projects. I tried a few things, but lacked focus and pretty much all things fizzled out.
I half jokingly say, the best part of 2019 was that it ended (apart from one major event detailed below).
What went right in 2019
On the 5th of March 2019, my 3rd child and second daughter, Lucy-Mae Karly Geri was born. She was most definitely the silver-lining of an otherwise horrible year.
Moving forward in 2020
I feel that in some ways I am still recovering from 2019, but I’m optimistic! This year I’m intentionally trying to slow down, but at the same time, I’m going to be expending focused effort on things that I’m passionate about.
I’ll be writing more about those things during the course of the year. They include adventuring the outdoors, building a software business side hustle and working on my health.
